Third Place
Sunday, Gabi and I went to Aalborg to see the final match of the top Danish soccer league, the right team (AaB) won, which was enough to give the third place in this years tournament. The match was sold out, and was quite interesting due to its importance. It was my first trip to Aalborg stadion in 2007 and I really enjoyed it :).

An Early Birthday Present
I just booked an appointment at my dentist. The plastic constructing on top of my extremely sensitive fractured tooth broke a few minutes ago. Since traveling to the US with half a tooth is hardly a good idea I just booked an appointment at my dentist, the appointment takes place on my birthday - yay.
Update: I think it may just have been a neighboring tooth behaving weirdly, so I just might get by without surgery :). I am keeping my appointment though.

Motivation
If you wanna get motivated to do some CS-theory, go listen to "Longest-path". It never fails to give me short bursts of productivity.
On the other hand, if you would rather just finish your thesis and leave the university, read "Gratis øl til datalogistuderende", and see your motivation increase.

Back From Svalbard
I just returned from Svalbard after a tiresome flight home. The trip was great and we got a lot of good experiences, and drove quite some distance on snowmobiles (probably in excess of 200 kilometers). Well, I am exhausted and heading for my bed.

Juniorklubben – Indoor Soccer
Tomorrow I am joining the sporty (and not so sporty) members of Juniorklubben at a local school were we will be playing indoor soccer, Henrik and I just went to buy a ball and some nice green jerseys. We will play once a week in the coming month and I am really looking forward to it, I love indoor soccer! Thanks to Henrik for pushing the idea all they way from sketch to implementation.

Route Home
Hmm, maybe I should find another route when I go home from water polo around midnight today, in case they choose to repeat yesterdays "fun" on Edwin Rarhs vej. I don't feel like getting caught in the cross fire.

Code Gets Around
It seems that my code gets around these days. I recently got some code in Gnome and this evening I had some other code on Danish television as shown on the screenshot attached to this post. The text behind the anchorman is from an ongoing project and is being displayed using VIM (obviously since it is the best editor!) There is really no reason for them to show that code but I guess they thought it looked techie. The full clip can be seen here.

Irony is when….
- You spend 10 hours trying to fix a proof - and fail
- You are riding your bike home from the university at 3:10 AM, coming home after midnight for the trillionth day in a row
- You have to re-set the chain on your two-wheeled piece of total crap which barely deserves to be classified as a "bike". You did this once today already, on your trip to the university.
- Your bike did the same yesterday
- And the day before that
- It starts raining as you exit the parking basement at the department going home
- The radio plays "Another Brick in the Wall" by Pink Floyd when you are almost home. "We don't need no education", indeed.
Good morning people, I'll see you when I wake up. :)

You Are Reading My Blog – The Blog That Does Not Condone The Cool Crime Of Robbery
There is nothing like working late, especially on fridays. The hallways are empty and no weird office mate or office neighbors bother me constantly or create some vortex I'll have to join :). Well, it can be quite boring too. Luckily video did not kill the radio star just yet, so I still have some entertainment.
Hmm, maybe I should rename my "real life" category to "no life"!

Contest Update – One Hour Left
Only about one hour remains of the North-Western European Regional Programming Contest 2006, in a few minutes the scoreboard will stop updating to keep some suspense for the award ceremony. Aarhus 2 is currently placed number forty with one correct solution, they have incorrect submissions for three other problems - hopefully they will have time to finish their solutions to some of these problems. Aarhus 1 is placed 22 with three problems solved and incorrect submissions to two others.
