Upgrading To Ubuntu Edgy Eft

by Thomas on September 13th, 2006

Yesterday I did a search and replace on my Ubunty systems /etc/apt/sources.list, replacing “dapper” with “edgy”. Following a download of 300megs and a series of apt-get commands to force stuff like the new firefox into place, I was able to boot the system again. So far I really like the Edgy Eft, the theme has been polished and all sorts of great applications are now updated to their newest, and in some case unreleased. I am now running Firefox 2.0 bon echo, Evolution 2.8, Gnome 2.6 and gaim 2.0beta3.1. For more information about the Edgy Eft see this writeup.
