There is nothing like waking up in the morning when you have to get in early and discover that everything is covered in snow, knowing that you will be among the first on the cycle lane and have to carve the snow with your bike. It is a small consolation to see the completely packed bus stops where lazy and weak people are trying to fit into a bus that is already nearly full, danes are so lazy!
I bought a motherboard today in an effort to save my dying old stationary computer (which I had already unsuccessfully tried to save by bying 512 megs of RAM), sadly it still does not work… ARGH!! It just sits there, the CPU fan spinning but nothing else is happening :(
Today is the birthday of Lars. Rune, Mikkel, Martin and I bought him a set of two remote controlled racing cars, they were very fun to play with and we staged a couple of races in the hallway. Now, that is serious research ;).

I am currently uttely swamped in work and that is why this blog has been rather quiet this week, I expect next week to be less busy (I sure hope so). I think I may have the time to upload the video later this evening, since I have to boot windows for some tele-conferencing and I have not figured out how to transfer files from my Samsung SGH-D600 to my system when running GNU/Linux.
It took some pressure, but Rune (no, not princess kirkebrand that Rune) has caved in to the overwhelming demand and has created his own blog. Now let’s se if he can manage actually updating it.

Sunday I went with Janus, Mette and David from my dorm to catch Fun with Dick and Jane, at Biocity. It is not one of those movies I will remember forever, but it was a good laugh and well worth the trip.

I am spending the weekend with Mikoline in Hjørring. Currently the danish selection for the eurovision song contest is running and Mikoline is watching with some interest. I suspect Martin would have watched it too, had he been in Denmark. Meanwhile I am relaxing hard and right after this I am probably going back to reading The Saga of the Seven Suns, I am currently halfway through book three in the series and it has really been an enjoyable read so far, it is really great story – a well written space opera.
Well that is all from me today, have a nice weekend everybody.
I just returned from a lecture and Rune just left for a TA meeting so I am sitting here trying to convince myself to start doing something usefull. But it is past 15:00, it is friday and I am feeling a bit tired so I am not overly motivated. On top of that, the friday cafe just opened presenting yet another temptation. But I have to stay firm and start working, Rune and I have half a liter of cola and some cheese in the fridge which we will eat when he returns so I’d better do something usefull in the next hour or so if I want to do anything more today.
But what should I do, I could study for my course in cryptologic protocol theory, grade the papers from my students in the algorithms course, prepare for the exercise next week in the same course, work on some of my own projects or just sit here browsing and wasting time on a silly blog?
For the next five minutes I think I will select the last option. Yesterday Rune and I went to the gym early and returned to IT-parken where we saw the movie “12 monkeys” with a bunch of foreign Ph.d. students. I have seen that movie a couple of times but is was still very god. The guys ordered pizza but I had to make some massed potatos out of hot water and some prefabricated powder :|. Afterwards we went to “uni baren” and stayed for a couple of hours before going home. I had a really good time, and it actually my first visit to “uni baren” (about time some might say).
I can in no way confirm what Rune has written about me and what I supposedly claimed. In fact, I always said that the claim was made during the break between lectures. Rune is just a bad citizen and is not a good member of the party he may even be under the influence of Goldstein. What preposterous thing is he going to claim next? That we were not always at war with Eurasia, surely he does not still beleive that we were fighting Eastasia just last year. Rune needs to be tought that (and I want all of you chanting on this one):
