I have three exams in the coming weeks, so do not expect many updates on this site in that period. Yesterday was my birthday, I had a nice day with my parents, my girlfriend and my sister and her boyfriend which came to visit me. My mom had made a nice new curtain for my room here at the dorm, so now I can actually work when the sun shines, I wonder if that is a good thing?. Lars, Mikkel and I also handed in our project report for the course dEkspSys.
Tonight I have been playing with the ARB_fragment_program and ARB_vertex_program OpenGL extensions for programming the GPU of the GeForce FX Go5650 in my laptop. It has been a while since I have played with assembly languages, but I manage – with the references by my side. Programming the GPU is just cool, but having learned the basics I now need something cool to make. I might do some bumpmapping and per-pixel lighting when I get the time. I could write more, but it is way past midnight and I need to study tomorrow, goodnight.
I have updated the project page with more screenshots from the engine, they are a bit old, but it’s always nice with some screenshots.
I seem to have emptied my sack of interesting post headlines, ah well. I have had a quiet weekend and found some time to play with my engine again. I have implemented a cloth renderer based on the one I talked about in one of my previous posts. A screenshot is shown on the right, the two red objects hovering about the cloth are lights in the scene graph, the left one is emitting blue light, the other one red.
Exams are approaching quite fast now, and I already feel that I am too lazy, so I suspect that my engine, and perhaps also this website, will see little change the next month or so. I also got a haircut today, I was done by my girlfriend outside on my porch during a thunderstorm, that was rather weird, and funny. Well, I have to make some excercises for tomorrow, see ya.
